    ‘Sweet room’ is an online shop that sells amazing cupcakes to people all around Dhaka. The owner of this shop, Mithy has rented a two-room house in Dhanmondi to make the cupcakes there and do the packaging of the orders to be dispatched.



    The rent of the mini production house is BDT 10,000 per month. She has two assistants named Jilly and Jane who help her to make the cupcakes. She pays each of them BDT 5,000 per month. 



    According to the demand of her cupcakes every month, Mithy has to buy raw materials like powder milk, ghee, flour, food color, etc and also do the packaging of those cupcakes. The cost of raw materials and packaging of each cupcake is BDT 250. The selling price of each cupcake is BDT 500. 



    The delivery of the cupcakes is done by a delivery company named ‘UDHAO’.  Mithy now wants to increase her sales and profit every month and is worried about how to do it!



     


    For our quiz question today, answer the following:


    Using the fixed and variable costs at Mithy’s store, (1) find out her breakeven point and (2) mention some strategies that she can use to increase her cupcake sales or profits.


     Hint:  Breakeven analysis to determine how to increase profits is very common and you can find all the answers of this quiz with some internet research and analysis.  For example, following is the breakeven point formula:

    Mujtaba's answer was the most creative answer.  It was written in only a few words, but had new and practical ideas.  So it scores high in terms of creativity.


     


    The Runner-up of this quiz is: 


    Khairunnesa Suparna (Runner-up, $3)



    Suparna's answer had some new business/economics concepts that were described in good practical ways and highlighted as well to understand easily. 


     


    The other Runner-up of this quiz is: 


    Zakaria Ahomed (Runner-up, $3)



    The best part of Zakaria's answer was the finishing touch or how he ended his quiz answer. We really liked the last statement in his quiz, the little of humor in his writing style and therefore, he was selected as another runner-up. 


     


    All the other participants also did a great job and there were so many good ideas in every answer.  For example, Mouna Mehnaz's ideas were written nicely and several more answer were interesting.
