In terms of giving full support to them, we have to be aware of our low income nation. Human need will last as long as people can survive. The forest resources in those area will decrease eventually if this Rohingya crisis lasts for more years. Again as a human we can not also deny them. The best solutions are: (1)Safe and sustainable Rohingya repatriation to Myanmar by giving pressure to Myanmar government from international welfare organizations. (2) However, this will need some time for repatriation so in this time a temporary ID card can be given to them so that they can work with the mainstream people. (3) Productive education program should be arranged so that they can be able to do any work and don't become a burden to the country. Biofuel is using waste and rubbish of animals and humans and converting it into fuel. There are two kinds of biofuel, one is biomass using the wastages directly as fuel. They just need to sundry the waste and can use them without extra expenses. Another is biogas, that needs to convert the wastages into gas and use it as fuel. The process is a little bit complexer and costlier. The wastage must be processed and compressed in an enclosed area without oxygen to convert it into a fuelworthy mixture of methane and carbon dioxide gas. If the government or any volunteer association helps to make it, it won't be tough. In the camp, a lot of rohingya people live who produce lots of human and pet animal waste that can be converted into biofuel. Biofuel will be the best and easiest alternative for cutting trees and making fuel for them. Volunteers need to teach them about it and our forest area will be saved.  less

But we will have to look forward rather than counting the waste. We can't send them back to their country forcefully, nor, Bhashan chor has any hope for them. Cox's bazaar has lots of possibilities as it is a tourist spot so if anyhow the government could use the man force for something productive they could bring us huge benefits.
    1)Educating such a big crowd won't be possible right now. So they can be used in fieldwork or something physical. The eligible men can be hired to protect the forest, help the army to guard the border, stop human or drug dealers, or for road construction or any constructive issues.
    And the women can be used to grow corn, sell ocean products, or be trained for some productive work. NGOs can come forward to help the government in this regard.
    The children can be educated with the local students or need to create more educational options for them. The school and Colleges can take plantation projects....    less

    2) A project can be taken by the government where they will take the men who are worthy enough to make a team for forestation, protect the forest and take care of plants.
    Also, renewable energy can be used to solve the problem. If solar waves or any renewable energy could be used to create fuel, it could solve the problem more.  less

You pose an important question to a difficult problem! Without knowing in detail the situation of Bangladesh and Rohingya refugees, I can suggest based on my work and academic experience with refugee policy in Latin America, that the Bangladesh Gov. should have a very cooperative relation with the UNHCR Office and also empower the national institution that deals with refugees, including a civil society consultative group that could advice the gov, in its decision making process. Best! To solve forest issues, they need to transfer for a temporary camping. So it's needed to contact with others country to solve the problem. We should locate temporary camping for refugees and utilize their man power. So that they could harvest better products or us and they can also survive upon on their money.  less

    To solve the rohingya issue the government should hit upon a sustainable plan. Firstly, proper shelter must be ensured for their safety. As Bangladesh government save these rohingya people by giving them permission to enter our country, now it is their responsibility as well as challenge to provide house and proper nutrition to this large number of people. Secondly, Work and education should be compulsory for rohingya. If they find the opportunity to read and write and work, it will be easy for them to adjust with Bangladeshi people. Last but not the least Bangladesh government should keep pressurizing the Myanmar government to ensure Rohingya's safety in their country because without ensuring their safety in Myanmar we can not send them back to their country.

The inclusion of LPG can replace the demand for fuelwood and side by side we can use this vast manpower to our side by making Rohingyas plant trees. Reforestation by the hand of Rohingyas will mean they will cover their surroundings with plants and trees which will gradually bring back the forest cover once we had. The best way to manage a community is to lift its standard of living. Which will minimize their basic needs and turn them into resources.  less

    Biogas may be a viable alternative to fuelwood.The main raw materials for biogas production are cattle & poultry.There is enough pasture to run the farm. About 8,000 families live in there.If one person from each family gets the opportunity to work on a centrally established farm, it will create employment. The farm will provide economic & food demand.They will be able to export these too. Biogas will be produced from farm waste.Once biogas is delivered to every home centrally,the pressure on fuel wood will be reduced. Large sums of money are needed to set up firms & biogas fields centrally,but foreign aid agencies are keen to fund such
    sustainable development.

    (1) Currently, the Rohingya issue is a sensitive and complicated topic. There are religious and political reasons behind the expulsion of Rohingyas from their homeland. They want to return to Myanmar but have to stay in Bangladesh as refugees because of security.
    The Rohingya problem cannot be solved without the concerted efforts of the international community and regional consensus. The Myanmar government should be held accountable to the world for ethnic cleansing. Rohingyas have a legitimate right to live in Myanmar.
    (2) Initiatives can be taken from the Bangladesh Forest Department and NGOs.
    The importance and training of planting trees can be given to them through training programs
    and tree saplings can be distributed.
    They need to be encouraged and trained to plant trees inside the camp.

But it’s not possible so quickly. So, the procedure should be running as well as our Govt. can give them food, protection, education, sanitation with the help of international agencies. Govt also starts relocating them which will reduce pressure on certain forest land. They did huge destruction of forest lands by making shelter and destruction is continued because of collecting fuelwood. So if we reduce fuelwood problem by providing biogas or fuelwood substitution actions through coordination of various aid agencies, our forest will get protection. Besides forest department can do plantation programme like social forestry where the refugees will participate. So it's confirm they'll stay there until the problem solved totally. Rohingyas fuel problem can be solved only by the help of foreign NGO's. They are supporting Rohingyas from all aspect. But if they also supply them cylinder gas, they won't cut trees. Though it's hard for the NGO's to supply gas where their basic needs are uncertain. But to cook food they don't have a choice. 13000 acre of Bhasan Char is visible. Where 5000 acres habitable. Other 8000 acres land should be planned well for mangrove and mount forestation.  less
