For example, where to place the buttons and sliders etc (like you showed in the chatbox tutorial). It basically just shows the backend code. Was that purposefully left out to shorten the video or is that something that I missed anywhere?

      David Landup Hi, it's not left out at all, it's there in the back end code. We're using a BorderLayout which is shown in the video, and when we add the components in the BorderLayout we can put them in the top, the center, the bottom, left and right. We're using a BorderLayout which is shown in the video, and when we add the components in the BorderLayout we can put them in the top, the center, the bottom, left and right. I simply added the buttons and the slider in the top, and then the drawing area in the middle, giving us the look of the application. Watch the video from minute 8:00. That's when I start to explain what the layout is and how it looks like, and also show an example from the official oracle website  less
